Some organizations have a "Statement of Faith" others, a
"Doctrinal Statement" & still others
a "Book of Common Practices." We choose to simply list what we value, which we believe will determine what we prioritize. These values & priorities best tell what & who we are. The values & priorities are built upon the ABSOLUTE foundation of Christ's teachings revealed in the most sacred of all gifts given to us, the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, these are EDGE’s 7 Foundational Principles for life and ministry
- We value the commission of Jesus to go and “make disciples” therefore we prioritize our conviction that salvation is more than a prayer & a baptismal certificate, it is becoming a student of the Teacher, a follower of the Master, a disciple of the Kingdom. We therefore we preach the Gospel of the Kingdom and stand in opposition to the westernized, materialistic, worldly, self-centered, watered down, "get-out-of-Hell-free-ticket” version of the Gospel that is so predominate in today’s culture.
- We value the Holy Spirit of God who brings the increase therefore we seek to establish a prayerful foundation in all things insuring that His ways, His Thoughts, and His Heart are predominate in all that we put our hand to.
- We value truth, holiness, purity & integrity therefore we prioritize examining our motives, actions & behaviors against the Word of God acknowledging that the human heart is deceitfully wicked and our natural tendency is towards selfishness and self-preservation.
- We value Christlikenss so we prioritize humility and servanthood in all things, putting to death the Adamic nature and embracing the cross of Christ personally and daily.
- We value the Body of Christ therefore we prioritize Christian Community that solicits, empowers and promotes only the identify of Jesus, leaving our denominational identifies in our Sunday AM worship services.
- The value the Glory & Honor of God and His Holy Name, therefore we promote a lifestyle of worship measuring all our purposes & goals to insure they are Kingdom of God driven.
- We value the giving God our best efforts, therefore we strive to provide clear communications and organized planning in all that we do to prefer and honor above ourselves those whom God has brought along side of us in ministry.
